The Benefits of Teflon Spray Coating

Teflon was first developed in 1938 by the DuPont company scientist, Dr. Roy Plunkett. Teflon is the definition of a scientific process that bonds a polymer (consisting of carbon and fluorine) to the finalized product, called polytetrafluoroethylene.

There are many benefits of Teflon spray coating, some of which are discussed below.

Non-Stick Surface. When the polymer is applied to any ordinary surface, the exterior then becomes a non-stick surface. This is one of the primary benefits of Teflon spray coating because the surface is able to remain clear without any contaminants attaching itself to it.

Temperature Tolerant. One of the other benefits of Teflon spray coating is that the surface is tolerant of all kinds of temperatures. This means that the surface can withstand hot temperatures, as well as cold temperatures. Due to its nonstick capability, the surface also becomes waterproof. This allows the surface to possess versatile qualities in the places where the Teflon spray was applied.

 Low Friction Coefficient. By applying Teflon spray coating on a surface, the friction coefficient of the surface diminishes. This means that objects traveling on top of the sprayed surface do not encounter much friction. This allows the product to move with ease and use a minimal amount of force.  

Clearly, there are many benefits to the use of Teflon spray coating on any given surface. Not only does the coating preserve the original condition of the surface, it ensures that the contaminants cannot stick to the surface which would lead to corrosion. The sprayed on surface can also tolerate temperature changes, which allows the object to possess versatility without the risk of heat damage. The surface also becomes friction resistant, allowing the objects and items to functionally operate without abrasions occurring. In conclusion, the Teflon spray coating will ensure a durable and long lasting surface on a product.
